Principal's Message

Southeast Middle Families,

This is principal Shalonda Simoneaux and we are excited to welcome our students back tomorrow and praying for all families as we recover from hurricane Ida. Our teachers and staff have worked hard to prepare so that we can provide quality teaching and learning in every classroom for every student. We expect all our students to return with cougar pride and remember to wear the appropriate uniform, treat each other with respect and bring charged Chromebooks back to school with them on Wednesday. We are midway through the first nine weeks and students will receive progress reports next week.

Optional Covid testing for students will continue to be provided every Thursday at 11:00 AM, parents must register students online see the school website www.smsdataschool.com for information on how to register your student for testing. Remember if your student is sick with any symptoms your students should stay home.

All students activities will continue and practice for football and volleyball will begin as soon as students have their paperwork turned in with physicals. All students must be picked up for 4:00 PM each day for practice. Please call the school daily with any questions or concerns and follow us on social media and visit our website.
