Southeast Middle Cougar Families,

This is principal Shalonda Simoneaux and we are excited to be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at our school. We reached 20 days of school last week and we have had a great week so far as we work hard on English and Math diagnostic tests, as well as other literacy and numeracy tools such as: Achieve 3000, Accelerated Reader, DreamBox, and Amplify. All parents should have received progress reports and log in information to your J parent accounts so that you can monitor your student's grades weekly. Most students are doing a great job with showing Cougar Pride - Perseverance, Respect, Intelligence, Discipline, and Enthusiasm. Thank you to parents for continuing to re-enforce positive behavior and academics. We work daily to remind students to bring their Chromebooks daily, wear the appropriate uniforms, and that their cell phones should be off and away all day. It is so helpful that you are reminding them of those things also. Here are some events coming up: Open House is Tuesday, September 28th from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Football and volleyball games begin next week. Cheerleader and dance tryouts also begin next week. All sports schedules will be posted on the smsdataschool.com webpage. We have picture day scheduled for our students on October 13, 2021. All students will be taking school pictures and a flyer with information for parents to order will be on our school website. Also remember that weekly COVID testing for students is on Thursdays. Parents must register students online. See the website for the COVID testing registration links.
