Southeast Middle Cougar Families,

This week is going to be exciting for our students. It is Spirit Week and many spirit days are planned for our students and faculty to enjoy. Football has been cancelled this week due to our opponent canceling and we host McKinley this week for volleyball. We will continue to follow school rules and show Cougar PRIDE as we celebrate school spirit. Our faculty and staff have met with many parents over the past few weeks regarding consequences and concerns regarding student behavior; many parents have also begun to schedule conferences after receiving report cards last week. The parent and staff partnership and ongoing communication is necessary for our students' continued growth and success. I have seen growth and improvement in many students which has resulted in positive results, however I see some beginning to test boundaries and need more behavior interventions. I remind students daily to treat their schoolmates, teachers, and selves with respect and if there is a problem to seek help from an adult immediately. Thank you for re-enforcing this at home as well. We expect the 2^nd Nine Weeks to be full of teaching and learning and look forward to each day to be a great day to be a Cougar.
