You can add and layer shapes to make your information stand out or even create your own custom background or image.
1) In the tool ribbon, click the icon with the circle and square
2) Look at the FOUR different shapes menus to choose the shape you would like to use, click it.
3) Use the crosshairs to drag the shape to the size you want on your slide
4) You can change the fill colour, the outline and the thickness of the outline of your shape
5) You can also easily duplicate shapes by selecting one and then clicking CONTROL + D
6) You can also use the ARRANGE menu to change the order that shapes appear on the page, group them or rotate them.

You can also add lines to your slides to connect shapes together or create your own.
1) Click the line with a dot on either end (to the right of the circle and square shape icon)
2) This will open a menu with 7 different line types
3) Choose the type that you would like
4) You can change the line to a different colour, a different thickness, a sold line or dotted or dashed lines and you can also change what appears at the end of the line.
5) The curved line and polyline tool allow you to fill the shapes that you create
6) The scribble is like a free draw option
