Dual Credit Students All students who will be taking Dual Credit for the first time next school year must apply to ICC! Please check your email for a message from Mrs. Love with all the necessary steps and links to apply to ICC and register for the ICC Placement test that will be given at DHS the morning of March 26th.
Upcoming College & Military Visits Monday, March 9th, a representative from Butler University will be here during lunch periods to meet with interested students. Thursday, March 12th, a representative from Bradley University will be in the Library during homeroom to meet with interested students. Sign up for homeroom visits outside of C5.
FAFSA-- Class of 2026 Graduation Requirement: The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) became a graduation requirement for all high school students in Illinois in 2021-2022. Illinois gives families two options for meeting this requirement:
1) Families can complete the 2025–26 FAFSA OR;
2) Families can opt out of the FAFSA by completing the ISAC FAFSA Nonparticipation- Official Opt-Out through the Illinois Student Assistance Commission's website
Please contact your students' School Counselor with any questions or concerns!
Student Reminders 1. Backpacks are to remain lockers until you leave for the day. Backpacks should not be brought to classrooms, study hall, or left in the hallways outside of classrooms. Backpacks found in the hallways will be brought to the office. 2. Students are not permitted to use personal devices like laptops or Ipads for academic work in class. 3. If you have an appointment with your counselor, do not come to the main office. Students are to check in with Mrs. Flanagan in C5. If you come to the main office, you will be sent to Mrs. Flanagan. 4. Throwing food in the cafeteria will result in lunch detentions. 5. Lock up your belongings as all times and do not leave items unattended. Do not leave items on benches, gym bleachers, tables, the floor, or the hallways unattended. If you do not have a lock for your gym locker, ask your PE teacher to set you up with one. 6. Students must have a parent or a guardian's permission to leave the building via a call or email. 7. Students with early or double early release need to leave the building at their release time. If you have a reason to remain in the building after your release time, you must have prior approval and be supervised by a coach, teacher, or DHS staff member.
