PSAT/NMSQT
The PSAT/NMSQT is an optional exam that may be taken sophomore or Junior year of high school. This year's testing date is Thursday, October 16 and traditionally starts at 8:25 am. The test cost is $18.00. Checks can be made out to Dunlap High School and need to be turned in to Mrs. Flanagan in C5 when sign up takes place. No matter how sophomores score, only juniors can qualify for the National Merit Competition by taking this test. Because of this sophomores are encouraged to take practice tests on their own time instead of missing classes.
Deadline to register is: Sept. 11
Who should take the PSAT? : Honors and AP students who are interested in taking a Pre-SAT or who want to try to qualify to be a part of the National Merit Scholar competition. There are many scholarships associated with a high PSAT scores, and students who are in the top percentage of examines will be invited to apply for the National Merit Scholar competition.
