Community Service

Students who complete 80 hours of Community Service throughout the school year are eligible to receive .5 credit towards graduation. Students cannot receive more than .5 credit per school year for volunteering. The most credit a student can receive for volunteering over the course of 4 years is 2 credits (.5 credits each year).  All students must have the activity pre-approved by application and submit a description for credit by submitting a Community Service form. Students can pick up the Community Service form from the counseling office, or access the PDF at the bottom of this page, to record volunteering sites. All students completing Community Service must submit this form, a record of their hours signed by a supervisor, and a one-page reflective summary about their experience to their counselor in order to receive credit.


Students striving for valedictorian status are also require to complete 40 hours of documented community service.
