Immersive Experience
PBL Project
PBL Project
For this project, our class worked together to create an immersive experience inside our PBL (Project-Based Learning) lab. Each student or group was assigned a part to design and build, either individually or with a partner, and our collective efforts came together to form a unique and engaging environment.
My partner and I focused on creating a display of flowers to symbolize growth. We designed and crafted the flowers using materials like felt, paper, and fabric to give them texture and depth. We wanted each flower to represent a different stage of growth, from a small bud to a fully bloomed flower, to show how growth is a process that takes time and care. We added vibrant colors to make the flowers stand out and arranged them in a way that felt natural and organic.
We also incorporated other materials, like string lights, to give the flowers a warm, inviting glow. The final arrangement was meant to create a sense of beauty and progression, encouraging the viewer to reflect on their own personal growth and development. Throughout the project, we worked closely together, collaborating on ideas and making adjustments to bring our vision to life.
This experience taught us a lot about creativity, teamwork, and the importance of paying attention to the details. It was rewarding to see how our flowers, along with the contributions of others, came together to create a meaningful and immersive space.
When my partner and I first started brainstorming for our PBL project, we knew we wanted to create something that symbolized growth and development. We began by discussing different ideas and how we could visually represent the theme in an immersive and engaging way. We tossed around a variety of concepts, from trees to gardens, but ultimately decided that flowers would be the best way to symbolize growth in a way that felt both natural and inspiring.
During our brainstorming session, we focused on how to show the process of growth, not just the end result. We talked about incorporating flowers at different stages—from buds to full blooms—to represent progress and transformation. We also thought about adding vibrant colors to make the flowers stand out and create a positive, uplifting atmosphere. We discussed materials like felt, paper, and fabric, and how we could use them to give the flowers texture and life.
We spent a lot of time bouncing ideas off each other, each of us suggesting new approaches and refining the concepts. Our discussion was very collaborative, as we wanted our ideas to flow naturally and complement each other. By the end of the session, we had a clear vision of what we wanted to create, and we felt confident that our plan would effectively communicate the theme of growth.
Through this brainstorming process, we learned the importance of collaboration and how sharing ideas can lead to something even better than what we imagined individually. It was exciting to see our initial thoughts evolve into a concrete plan for our project.
During PBL Night, parents had the opportunity to experience the immersive environment firsthand. For those who couldn't attend in person, a tour of the experience was recorded by students, allowing them to explore virtually.
