How to perform a Backup

It is imperative that all school related data on your laptops is backed up on a regular basis. Ideally, all documents should be created in or uploaded to Google Drive. By doing this, you eliminate the need to perform regular backups of your laptop.

To upload files from your laptop onto your Google Drive, please follow the instructions provided below:

Drag files into Google Drive

1. On your computer, open your Google Drive via Google Chrome or Safari.
2. Open or create a folder within the drive.
3. To upload files and folders, drag them from your desktop/finder window into the Google Drive folder.

If you would like to configure automated backups using Time Machine on your Mac laptop, you will need an external hard drive.
