During Academic Night, parents had the opportunity to scan QR codes that will direct them to various Literacy Websites and Apps for their scholars. These websites include places for students to read books for free and play games to increase their reading comprehension and phonics skills.
For BHM, scholars and families were given the oppertunity to work together to create a poster about a Hero in history using their VILS devices. Scholars and families were provided a Wakelet that had 88 different heroes to choose from. They were then assigned to use Canva to create the poster and upload to their Digital Citizenship Google Classroom.
For Report Card Day, the VILS Coach had a table to talk to parents and families about various tech use both in and out of school. This included talking about programs that teachers use for instruction with students and websites/apps that students can use outside of school to further their education. The brochure below was used to provide this information to parents/guardians.
Parents are constantly kept informed through flyers about when VILS devices are kept at school or if they have an Invoice for missing/broken devices. When devices are kept at school, parents are notified through the flyer and a posting in the Parent Gator Gazette. When students have an outstanding fee, parents/guardians are notified with a phone call from the coach, a notice on the students' pay check, and an invoice letter sent home to parents. All fliers are sent out in both English and Spanish.

For next year, a big plan is to have a VILS Parent night in the beginning of the year. This will allow for parents to be able to sign out each individual piece of VILS technology. This will also allow parents to have an open forum in order to ask any questions they might have about the technology and student use.
