Ongoing professional development supports effective teacher use of technology through the use of instructional technology coaches, teams of teacher leaders, or other systems of support.
All guiding questions are aligned to the element criteria located in the Portfolio Guide. TUPS and TIM (optional for Extension Schools). If you do not use these systems, please include evidence of data around technology integration.
Guiding questions:
The Teacher Survey Data guided the support provided to teachers by understanding what programs teachers are currently comfortable with and where teachers see themselves heading when it comes to using technology in their classrooms.
The results of the survey impacted student learning by recognizing what programs teachers were currently using and introducing similar programs or new ways to use the programs for student engagement and retention of content.
Compared to fall survey...
Teachers are given Professional Developments through virtual videos. This allows teachers to attend the PDs when they have the time to learn about the different programs and do not have their planning periods filled with meetings. After watching the videos and completing the work, teachers then have the opportunity to schedule a meeting with the VILS coach to dig deeper into the programs.

Self Reflection on the Element: (Choose one: Emerging, Aligning, or Optimizing)
I believe we are Optimizing for the Professional Development Element.
Strengths: How did your campus exemplify illustrating this element?
This year, we did a great job of converting our Professional Development to virtual versions due to having a schedule that did not lead to having time for in person PDs. This allowed teachers to complete the professional developments on their own time and use the videos to reference when necessary. Teachers really enjoyed having this option because they were able to progress through PDs at their own pace and ask detailed questions to me through email or the google forms that often accompanied the PDs.
Next Steps: What could you have done differently to better align with this element?
For next year, the plan is to do all in-person PDs and having VILS programs more prioritized through out the year. We will then continue to record the PDs and create a virtual library for teachers to continue to use. This will allow teachers to reference back to PDs if needed or allow us to on-board new teachers during the year easily by referencing the important PDs for the new teachers.
