Akili Academy provides access to an instructional coach that support teachers in technology integration and device management.
How has the data guided the support provided to teachers? How have the results of the survey impacted student learning?
There have been several challenges this year including a significant change in our VILS workforce, some of whom had never taught with technology before or had access to coaching or children with 1-to-1 devices. However, I am working diligently with the teaching staff at Akili and encourage technology integration as something that will make things easier for new and returning teachers.
Ms. Barnes is a first-year teacher and came to Akili in the middle of the year. She struggled with engagement and behaviors at first, not unlike most new teachers. After a couple of observations and setting up a coaching cycle Ms. Barnes saw an immediate change and the positive impact that using technology with fidelity can have on engagement and behavior management.

What does your TIM data show?
Comparing this year's and last year's data is difficult because much of our VILS staff are new this year. Returning staff continue to grow, and fewer new staff are working at the Entry level than the new staff at EOY last year.
How has TIM data reimagined the support for teachers at your campus?
VILS learning experiences and coaching, and other resources with collaboration in mind have allowed us to see gains in collaboration. There's been a more significant push to build collaboration and projects that encourage more student interaction, collective learning, and skill-building.
CCS Coaches will be attending the 2022 ISTE (International Society For Technology In Education) Conference this summer and bringing back that knowledge to staff and students for the 22/23 school year!

How has the student tech team supported teachers, students, and families?
Our Student Tech Team endeavors have been slow going in light of various obstacles, including COVID-19 quarantines and Hurricane Ida. However, our Student Tech Team supported IA testing with the guidance of IT Manager Sophie Gavin and our technology teacher, Ms. Abdul.
