LESSON PLAN
ANNOTATION
I have attached the lesson plan I used during my online class observation, which is based on the Carnegie Mellon University's Eberly Center for Teaching Excellence's research-based principles of learning and teaching strategies. The students' prior knowledge is addressed in the first principle. I was able to engage my pupils in their prior knowledge through the review part of my lesson. This will provide them a foundation for building new knowledge. They will be able to expand on this knowledge as we explore our new topic. To encourage my class to respond to the questions, I also used Classpoint, an interactive classroom quiz application. The second principle relates to the motivation of the students. I utilized the game "4 Pics in 1 word" in my class as an inspiration to pique the students' interest. After that, I asked HOT questions and integrated other subject areas. When students find positive value in a learning activity, they are likely to be strongly motivated to learn. The third principle that I applied is that by giving students opportunities to apply skills or knowledge in diverse contexts through differentiated activities.
