Tecumesh's Indian confederation in the Northwest Territory inspired Indians in the Southwest Territory to also fight against the United States.
A group of Creek Indians decided to rise up against the United States. From 1813 to 1814, US forces led by Andrew Jackson fought against the Creek Indians in a series of battles known as the "Creek War."
The Creek War began when the Creek Indians massacred a group of Americans who were living in the Alabama Territory. A bunch of volunteer soldiers from Tennessee joined Jackson to fight the Indians, these Tennesseans became known as the
Jackson finally defeated the Creek Indians in the Battle of Horseshoe Bend. The Creek War officially ended with the Treaty of Fort Jackson.
