NYC Theatre Intensive Winterim made it to the city today, got checked into our hotel, and had a late dinner at Junior’s. Looking forward to our first round of classes tomorrow, and seeing our first show The Play That Goes Wrong!
Hello viewers! Today the NYC Winterim woke up bright and early to go to our first master class! It was a makeup masterclass with the swing makeup coordinator for Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club. Zephyr got their makeup done to look like the iconic Emcee in "Money" and Rylee got her makeup done for her 15th birthday! After that we went and got soup dumplings before our second masterclass of the day. After lunch we headed over to Pearl Studios to have a masterclass with Phoenix Best who is known for her roles in Dear Even Hansen and The Color Purple on Broadway. After wandering around Time Square for a little while, we got pizza for dinner and went to The Play That Goes Wrong! Finally we went to get gelato for Rylee's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYLEE!

Hello from NYC!
Today we walked over 5miles! We started off at the Museum of Broadway, then headed to Central Park for a picnic lunch and a ride on the Central Park Carousel. Next we went to Concord Theatricals and learned about the many careers that you can have in the theater business world- lawyers, marketing, script readers, licensing, and more. Then we were back to pounding the pavement and toured the Metropolitan Opera, which is a whole city unto itself. After our tour, we headed back to Times Square for dinner with Dawson Alum Lynne Smith and then ended the day at the Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors. Now we are back at our hotel resting our feet and getting ready for another full day tomorrow.
Today we got to learn music and a dance with the music director and dancer from Moulin Rouge and then we went to see the show! We went to an AMAZING grilled cheese place for lunch and got to meet with one of Mr Benders old students who is a senior at NYU. Then we went to the Metropolitan Opera to see the new opera Moby Dick.
