After a long travel day, we’ve arrived in San Jose. We had a quick pizza dinner and everyone headed off to bed. Tomorrow we’ll be leaving at 6 am to start our adventures on the river. We’re all very excited to go rafting!
Hola! Hola!
After an easy travel day, we woke up bright and early to and go rafting on the Pacuare River. We had a delicious breakfast and took 4x4 trucks to the put in where we met all of our nice local guides and started on the water. We rafted mostly class I and II rapids before we stopped for a short hike to a natural pool and some fresh pineapple.
After another hour on the water we arrived to our place for the night, an incredible eco lodge right on the water. We got settled in and some hiked to see a beautiful waterfall with another natural swimming pool. The rest of the evening we spent talking to our guides, learning more about Costa Rica, playing games and eating more delicious food. Before we called it a night, we did some group bonding activities and set goals for the trip. We fell asleep to the natural sounds of the river and animal life! Tomorrow we head back out on the river for bigger rapids!
Adios Familias!
We had another great day on the River, rafting class IV rapids, floating through canyons and swimming through waterfalls. Our arms are officially jello, but so worth it for an amazing experience. From the river we headed to La Fortuna, our home base for the next 2 nights.
Today we had our big zip lining adventure through the cloud forest! Many of us had to push through our fear of heights, but the guides were amazing and helped us feel safe as we launched into the air. Ms Romano had a go pro on her helmet to capture many of the great moments which she will share at a later time. We then headed on a way too long bus ride to our beach destination Playa Uvita where we will enjoy some surfing and the ocean.
Another amazing day living the Pura Vida life! Today we headed to the beautiful Playa Uvita for some surf lessons. Everyone did great and many first timers caught some big waves. After surfing we enjoyed coconut water from Pipas right off the tree. We then headed back to our hotel for some pool time before dinner. Our dinner spot happened to be running a trivia night, so a group of us joined in and our ringer Lucas helped us dominate! Tomorrow we head back to San Jose for our closing activities and then back to CO.
See you soon familias!
