Parent-Teacher Conferences: The 4th Grade Parent Conferences will be Monday, April 29, and Thursday, May 2. Please note that these dates will not coincide with the school's general Parent Conference schedule. I understand that this may require some adjustments to your plans, and I genuinely appreciate your cooperation and understanding in accommodating this change. I have the signup spreadsheet ready for all 4th Grade parents, see the link at the bottom of this letter.
Curriculum Ordering: You will be ordering curriculum for 5th Grade during Parent Teacher Conference. Please be prepared with the packages you would like to order before you come. If you are not sure what curriculum you would like for next year, I advise you to make an appointment with Jessica Maughan well before your PTC so that you will be prepared.
Curriculum Progress Forms will be emailed out school-wide on April 22nd. Please fill out your 4th Grade students form by April 24th. This only gives you two days to do it, but it will give me the information I need to have a successful conference with you. Thank you so much for your support and for sending such great students to Davinci 4th Grade!
Parents and Students!
Welcome back after spring break! It's been wonderful to see the students return to school with so much enthusiasm, eager to reconnect with their friends and dive into new learning adventures. I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the incredible support you provide at home. Your dedication to your child's education truly shines through in the classroom, and it's a joy to work with such enthusiastic learners. Thank you for being such fantastic partners in education here at Davinci Elementary.
We have something exciting planned for next week! On Tuesday, April 16, and Wednesday, April 17, we'll be celebrating birthdays in our class. There will be delicious birthday cake, Fiiz drinks, show & tell, and lunch (as normal, please send you student with a lunch that day) in the classroom. Additionally, we'll be celebrating the impressive achievements your students have made in mastering their multiplication facts. They've worked hard, and it's time to celebrate their success!
If your child has any dietary concerns or food sensitivities, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I've already been in touch with parents of students with known food sensitivities, but I'm more than happy to accommodate any additional dietary needs. Let's ensure everyone can join in the fun and celebration!
Gentle reminder that next week we will be testing Thursday, April 18- RISE Math Test.
We kindly ask that your child comes prepared for these testing days. A good night's rest, a hearty breakfast, and punctuality will greatly help them. We are committed to providing a calm and supportive environment to ensure your child's success during the tests.
With love,
Mrs. Nichols
We wrapped up our unit on Procedural Writing this week! The students did an outstanding job writing about topics they're knowledgeable about. They've gained the ability to provide clear, detailed instructions on how to do, be, or make something. Congratulations to all the students! You've made remarkable progress in this writing unit!
Did you see the eclipse on Monday? Many students said they were able to view it! It was very cool!
Here is the lesson that we covered in science. Please use this lesson at home as a review or if your student was absent.
Objectives:
I can learn that differences in the apparent brightness of the Sun compared to other stars is due to the relative distance (scale) of stars from Earth.
I can use evidence and reasoning to construct an explanation for the phenomenon.
Have a terrific weekend! Remember to reach out if you have questions or need anything!
