Dear Parents and Students,
Anticipation is building as we approach the upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for January 29 and February 5. I am eager to connect with each of you during these valuable sessions. To facilitate your participation, we are pleased to offer childcare services for those in need.
Kindly remember to bring your students' curriculum to the conference, ensuring a productive discussion. In the event of a forgotten or misplaced curriculum, we may need to reschedule for a later date to provide the most meaningful interaction.
I'm delighted to share that our students have completed the I-Ready Reading and Math Diagnostics. You should have already received an email containing your student's results. I eagerly anticipate celebrating their academic achievements with you during the upcoming conferences.
Our fourth-grade students are truly remarkable, and I hope your child will join us if possible. Your partnership with Davinci Academy Flex is invaluable, and we genuinely appreciate the continued support from our Davinci Families.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. Looking forward to our discussions and celebrating the success of our amazing students!
Love,
Mrs. Nichols
As we gear up for the upcoming 4th Grade Valentine's Day Party on February 13 & 14 at 2:40 p.m., I am reaching out to extend a special invitation to parents to help plan the party for our students.
Fostering friendships and creating memorable experiences for our students is a collective effort, and your involvement can make a significant difference. If you're interested in helping with the party, please let me know during the upcoming parent-teacher conference.
We encourage students to craft their own shoe-size Valentine's Boxes before the party. Additionally, each student is invited to bring 15 unaddressed, but signed Valentines to share with their classmates. It's a simple yet heartwarming way for the students to express their friendship and appreciation for each other.
Your support in making this event a success is truly appreciated. Together, we can create a warm and inclusive environment where our students can grow, learn, and build lasting friendships. Thank you for being an essential part of our community and for helping your student make great DaVinci friends!
Here are some videos to review types of energy!
Energy Unit
This week was our next to last lesson on energy transfer. We built models that represented alternate forms of energy. I hope your student had fun learning to build a model from instructions. Here are some awesome pictures of our students building their energy models in class.
Standard 4.2.4 Design a device that converts energy from one form to another. Define the problem, identify criteria and constraints, develop possible solutions using models, analyze data from testing solutions, and propose modifications for optimizing a solution. Emphasize identifying the initial and final forms of energy. Examples could include solar ovens that convert light energy to heat energy or a simple alarm system that converts motion energy into sound energy.
Objective(s)
Learn about renewable energy sources. Build a model. Be able to explain how the models what kind of energy to run.
