Dear Parents and Students,
Hello! We have ten weeks left of school! I can hardly believe it! Please see the March calendar for upcoming events. Keep on doing the great work you do! Our kids are so fortunate to have parents who do so much! I love partnering with you to help provide a unique education for our Davinci students! Have a great weekend! Please reach out anytime if you have questions or concerns.
Love,
Mrs. Nichols
On March 12 & 13 students can wear crazy hair or crazy hats! The 7th Grade Student Leadership Council planned the activity this month. We appreciate our 7th grade and love to support our Davinci Student Council!
Our students loved our Reader's Tasting Table and learning about historical fiction with Brandy Jessop and poetry with Maren Carlile. Thank you for coming to our class and sharing your love of reading! We love our parents!
I am so impressed with all the students who love to read! Many students have set some lofty goals to read books out of their comfort zone. Thank you to everyone for such a fun monthly activity! Thank you to all our 4th graders. YOU are terrific readers! Keep it up!
Our next Tasting Table will be March 26 & 27.
Imaginative story writing has been our topic for a few weeks now! Your student came home with an envelope that has their own creative imaginative story and a checklist. Parents, will you help your student proof read/edit their work. Then, send it back next week in the same envelope so they can write their final draft. Thank you! We have some amazing stories being created and they are so excited to share their stories next week in class. I have included a video about editing and revising that you can review as a guide. Good luck and I am excited to see what these amazing kids create!
Science was super fun this week! We finished making the model of an eye and experimented with how light is important for seeing objects. I have included a few links that you may find helpful. The "Optics for Kids" text is also included in the Nearpod Lesson. The Nearpod lesson has a vocabulary matching game and multiple choice questions to answer. These are for a science review only and not an assignment to do at home.
