Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well after a snowy week. We are grateful for your patience as cancelled school days can be challenging. I appreciate everyone's cooperation during our mid-year testing on Thursday. THANK YOU!
I am excited about the upcoming parent-teacher conferences where I will have the opportunity to share the wonderful accomplishments of your students. Please feel free to reach out anytime if you have questions or concerns. I am here to assist your student in any way I can. Thank you for partnering with us to create an individual and unique education for your child.
We invite you to join us on Friday, January 19, from 5:00-7:00pm our Davinci Open House Event. Bring your friends and family for fun activities, and we will also have the 2024-25 school calendar available for you that evening. It promises to be an enjoyable evening with special experiences, including a dragon presentation by the 4th Grade.
Looking ahead to next week, on January 23 and 24, we have Reading I-Ready Testing starting at 9:15 am. To ensure your student is prepared, please have them eat a good breakfast, bring a simple snack, and ensure they are well-rested. Being on time or a little early is appreciated, allowing our students to be calm and ready for testing. I will provide a brain break about 35-40 minutes into the test for students to have a drink, eat a snack, and use the restroom.
Once again, thank you for your continued support. We truly appreciate our Davinci Families!
Warmest regards,
Mrs. Nichols
Just in case you need the student check-in form, I have attached the link here. The due date was 1/19/24. Thank you for all who have already filled out the form. I appreciate you so much!
Writer's Workshop
Students are learning the structure of creating an imaginative story. The beginning of a story is called the exposition, followed by the rising action, climax, falling action, and last the resolution. Students will be starting to write their stories after reading testing is over.
Science
This is a review of the lesson we learned this week in science.
Ask students:
What did you learn about electricity today?
How does electricity get to your house?
What kind of energy generates the electricity?
What kind of energy does electricity create?
What kinds of machines are needed for energy to be converted into electricity?
