We officially kicked off our Read-a-Thon, and it has been such an exciting start. Our students are already diving into their books, exploring new stories, and showing so much enthusiasm for reading! 📚💡

We’re just getting started — and there’s more fun to come this week as we continue our Read-a-Thon adventure. Stay tuned for spirit days, special activities, and more opportunities to celebrate the joy of reading together. 🌍🐾

Week in Review

Congrats to our Pawsome Award winners: Isaiah, Hanna, Sarah, and Woodson for being exemplary members of our community!

Read-a-thon: Reading around the world!

The Read-a-thon is finally here!!! Read Around the World with us and help support the school’s biggest fundraiser of the year, where students grow their love of reading while raising money for field trips, enrichment programs, and improvements to our outdoor spaces. Our goal this year is $50,000!

Here’s how it works: each student has their own donation link that parents can share with friends, family, and even co-workers. Every pledge helps encourage our kids to read as much as they can and shows them just how powerful books can be.

In addition to the fundraising we will be encouraging reading at home by sharing a video every evening for you to watch with your child. Each video will feature a story from that day's country and a surprise guest reader. Please use this time to have conversations and ask questions to your child about the story. Everyday they will be given a "stamp" for visiting that country. Tonight's book is from the United States.

Wolfpack Wednesday

Take a look at just a few of the exciting Wolfpack Wednesday clubs! These are only a sample of the many options students had to choose from.

Did you hear your child talk about Wolfpack Wednesday and wonder what it is?

Wolfpack Wednesday is a special opportunity for students, once a month, to be part of a club that happens during the school day. These clubs give students the chance to explore interests, build friendships across grade levels, and discover new passions—all while strengthening our school community.

This week, students heard about the different club options and had the chance to select their top choices. Our very first Wolfpack Wednesday will take place on Wednesday, September 24th. We can’t wait to share pictures and for students to come home excited to tell you all about their experience!

We are excited to announce an upcoming Parent Resource Workshop designed to help families stay connected and engaged with their child’s education. During this session, parents will have the opportunity to learn how to:

Use ClassDojo
Communicate through TalkingPoints (for middle school)
Access and explore our weekly newsletters: The Pupdate and The Walker Wolfpack

This workshop is a great way to build confidence in using these tools and to strengthen the home-to-school connection. We encourage all parents who are interested to join us!
