🎓 Career Day Is Coming!
We are excited to announce that our upcoming Career Day is just around the corner! This special event gives students the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of careers and hear directly from professionals in our community about what they do each day.
This year, students will hear from speakers representing careers such as healthcare, law enforcement, business, engineering, technology, education, entrepreneurship, and public service. Our goal is to help students explore possibilities for their future while learning how different skills and interests can lead to many exciting career paths.
Career Day is a wonderful opportunity for students to practice curiosity, respect, and thoughtful communication with our guest speakers. Families can help support this experience by talking with students ahead of time about appropriate questions they might ask.
Some great examples include:
• What inspired you to choose your career?
• What do you enjoy most about your job?
• What skills helped you become successful in your career?
• What advice would you give students who might want to do your job one day?
We also ask families to help students understand that some questions may be too personal or not appropriate for a school setting. For example, questions about a speaker’s salary, age, personal life, or political opinions should be avoided so we can keep the focus on learning about careers.
Thank you for helping us prepare students to be respectful and thoughtful participants during this exciting event. We are so grateful to our community members who are volunteering their time to inspire our students!
We look forward to a fantastic Career Day! ✨
Spring Events Update
This past Saturday’s Dance was such a fun and successful event. We loved seeing our community come together and our kids having a blast!
Since events like this require tremendous planning and volunteer support to run smoothly, we’ve made the tough call not to include Wheelie Fun Night in our Spring calendar of events this year. We’re excited to share that there are still plenty of fun community events planned this Spring! We hope to see everyone at all of the upcoming PTO Spring events!
Join fellow PWM kiddos at the rescheduled iCode Spirit Night this Friday 3/6, 5:30-8pm. If you’re not familiar with iCode nights, it’s a drop off event where children can play school approved games (like Minecraft or Roblox) or do arts & crafts and play while parents get the evening off. It’s $30 for the first kiddo and HALF off for each add’l sibling. 2 slices of pizza included. This is a kid favorite and a highly requested fundraiser!
