Hello families,
🐾🌟 School Newsletter Update! 🌟🐾
We can’t believe it, but we are getting close to the end of the school year! These final months always seem to fly by, and we have tons of exciting events coming up over the last two months of school.
Before we dive into all the fun ahead, we want to take a moment to celebrate how we rocked our first week back after Spring Break. Our students came back ready to learn, full of energy, and eager to finish the year strong—we are so proud of them!
As we look ahead, please be sure to see below for important dates so you don’t miss any of the upcoming activities and celebrations.
We are especially excited about our new playground celebration and hope to see everyone there as we come together as a community to enjoy this wonderful new space!
Warm regards,
Cristina Cendejas

As we approach upcoming testing, there are several simple ways you can support your child at home. Encourage a consistent routine with plenty of sleep each night, provide a quiet space for homework and review, and help your child stay organized with their materials. Practicing reading daily, reviewing notes, and talking positively about testing can also build confidence and reduce stress. It is especially important to make the nights before testing calm and predictable—ensure your child gets a good night’s rest, eats a healthy dinner, and avoids late-night activities so they are well-rested and ready to do their best.
We also invite you to join us for our STAAR Workshop on Monday, March 30th at 8:15 a.m., where we will share more information about the STAAR test and offer additional strategies to help your child succeed. We hope to see you there!

At Prestonwood, we are proud to honor the important milestones in each child’s educational journey. One of the meaningful ways we do this is through our three bridging ceremonies and celebrations, which mark the transition from one grade band to the next: Primary to Lower Elementary, Lower Elementary to Upper Elementary, and Upper Elementary to Middle School.
In the Montessori tradition, these moments represent far more than a simple change in classrooms. They are a celebration of growth, independence, and the unfolding of each child’s potential. Bridging ceremonies acknowledge the work children have accomplished, the relationships they have built, and their readiness to embrace new challenges and responsibilities. They serve as a symbolic passage, honoring both where students have been and the exciting path ahead.
These celebrations are intentionally designed to recognize each child’s development within our Montessori community, reinforcing their sense of belonging and accomplishment as they move forward.
Below, you will find more information about each of our three bridging ceremonies/celebrations.
Primary (Kinder Only) - May 19th
Lower (3rd Only) - May 19th
Upper (6th Only) - May 22nd

Spring Events Update
This past Saturday’s Dance was such a fun and successful event. We loved seeing our community come together and our kids having a blast!
Since events like this require tremendous planning and volunteer support to run smoothly, we’ve made the tough call not to include Wheelie Fun Night in our Spring calendar of events this year. We’re excited to share that there are still plenty of fun community events planned this Spring! We hope to see everyone at all of the upcoming PTO Spring events!
