**After successfully completing four semesters of AFJROTC, students may request they be awarded 0.5 PE Credit, in lieu of the 0.5 General Elective Credit for 2nd semester of AFJROTC 2 and AFJROTC 4.
Aerospace Science - Leadership Education - Wellness 1

AFJROTC I is the introductory course for all new cadets. The course consists of three components: Aerospace Science (40%), Leadership Education (40%), and Wellness/Physical Fitness (20%). The Aerospace Science I portion is a journey into aviation history course focusing on the development of flight throughout the centuries The emphasis is on Pioneers of Flight and The Early Air Force. It is interspersed with concise overviews of the principles of flight to include basic aeronautics, aircraft motion and control, and flight power. Leadership Education I introduces the student to the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) program, while instilling elements of good citizenship, develops informed citizens; strengthens and develops character; develops study habits and time management; wear of the Air Force uniform; and Air Force customs and courtesies. Additionally, cadets will be taught the fundamentals of Drill and Ceremonies. This portion of the course concentrates on the elements of military drill, and describes individual and group precision movements, procedures for aluting, drill, ceremonies, reviews, parades, and development of the command voice. Students are provided detailed instruction on ceremonial performances and protocol for civilian and military events and have the opportunity to personally learn drill. Most of the work is to be hands-on. The Wellness/Physical Fitness portion will incorporate the Cadet Wellness Program is and exercise program focused upon individual base line improvements with the goal of achieving a Presidential Physical Fitness standard calculated with age and gender. The goal of the Cadet Wellness Program is to motivate JROTC cadets to lead active, healthy lifestyles beyond program requirement and into their adult lives. Cadets WILL wear the Air Force JROTC uniform and issued PT uniform weekly.

The course consists of three components: Aerospace Science (40%), Leadership Education (40%), and Wellness/Physical Fitness (20%). The Turning Point Cloud (TPC) System will be used extensively in both Aerospace Science and Leadership Education. Aerospace Science: Focuses on how airplanes fly, how weather conditions affect flight and the human body, and flight navigation. The course is designed to complement materials taught in math, physics, and other science related courses and supports a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, (STEM) education. Throughout the course there are individual and group activities, technology enrichment and Microsoft Flight Simulator activities. Leadership Education: Focuses on the AFJROTC mission to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community. The focus is to improve the cadet’s communication, awareness of self and others and leadership. Woven throughout the course is the underlying theme of developing personal integrity while emphasizing leadership and other values, such as service and excellence. Cadets will be expected to lead their flight in drill and will continue to hone their Drill and Ceremonies skills.
Wellness/Physical Fitness: This portion will incorporate the Cadet Wellness Program. The course consists of three components: Aerospace Science (40%), Leadership Education (40%), and Wellness/Physical Fitness (20%). Leadership III is a follow on to the Leadership I and II courses. JROTC 3 emphasizes managing others; stress and finances; citizenship; and real life issues. Cadets put these learned skills into practice by being placed in leadership positions within the cadet corps. Survival Education is taught from the viewpoint that we live in a state where bad weather comes upon us quickly and cadets could find themselves in a survival type situation. During the summer months, many cadets enjoy hiking, camping and being in our rugged mountains, again placing themselves in situations that can turn dangerous without warning. We will cover elements of surviving, personal protection, necessities to maintaining life, and vasic orientation and land navigation. The Wellness/ Physical Fitness program will stress the improvement of individual scores in the Presidential Physical Fitness program based on cadet age and gender. Additionally, team sports will enhance esprit-de-corps among flights through various sports competitions. Cadets WILL wear the Air Force JROTC uniform and issued PT uniform weekly.

The course consists of three components: Aerospace Science (40%), Leadership Education (40%), and Wellness/Physical Fitness (20%). The Aerospace Science is performance leadership that focuses on applying established leadership and management principles learned in the first three years of AFJROTC. The aerospace science course will be based on the application o the principles through the management of cadet corps activities, cadet senior project and the global awareness project. Leadership Education: This course the students will receive classroom instruction on principles of management.The Wellness/Physical Fitness portion will incorporate the Cadet Wellness Program. The Canet Wellness Program is an exercise program focused upon individual baseline improvements with the goal of achieving presidential physical fitness standards calculated with age and gender. The goal of the Candet Wellness Program is to motivate JROTC cadets to lead active, healthy lifestyles beyond program requirements and into their adult lives. Cadets WILL wear the Air Force JROTC uniform issued PT uniform weekly.
