The Department of Hospitality Management congratulates Dr. Joan L. Fortuna, Mr. Klenton R. Torrevillas, MIHM, and Mr. Dan Dacillo Ardemer for presenting their research proposal in the 1st Futures Thinking Day titled "FutuREady" with the theme "Envisioning Tomorrow: Exploring Futures Thinking for Innovation and Sustainability".
The event was held at Cavite State University, Carmona, on June 5, 2025, in the Audio-Visual Room.
Dr. Joan L. Fortuna went to Thailand and attended today's opening of the 20th Asia Pacific Forum for Graduate Students' Research in Tourism at Phuket, Thailand.
She will be presenting her research in one of the sessions of the Asia Pacific Forum in the following days. Mabuhay!
Congratulations to our Program Coordinator, Dr. Joan L. Fortuna, as she is one of the selected participants to move forward to the next stage of the workshop series, IP Expedite 2024: Technology Commercialization Mentorship Series is bringing the research on High-Fiber Pinebanana Cupcakes: The Utilization of Pineapple (Ananas Comosus) Peel Waste authored by Sophia Mylles S. Lingcallo, Michelle A. Fajardo, Shainna M. Navarro, Abygail Marie F. Onnagan, and Joan L. Fortuna, and her own research with Ms. Shiela Vidallon et. al. on Calamansi Ginger and Pandan Concentrate.
This comes after the IP Unite 2024 (for Faculty) was held at Cavite State University (Main) about Patent Search and Patent Drafting Workshop.

The Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) has invited our Program Coordinator, Dr. Joan L. Fortuna, to be their resource speaker in their upcoming Research Colloquium yesterday, January 16, 2024, at 8:00 am at the EARIST Amphitheater, Manila, Philippines.
The theme of the event is "Unveiling the Transformative Journeys: Exploring Technology Innovations in Hospitality and Tourism Education".
The event was also participated by Dean Dr. Maria Rhoda Dinaga, VPAA Dr. Eric C. Mendoza, and EARIST President, Dr. Rogelio T. Mamaraldo.
Dr. Joan L. Fortuna presented their research entitled, "Product Formulation, Acceptability, and Marketability of Mint-flavored Guyabano-Black Rice Grain Premium Tea and Calamansi-Ginger-Pandan Concentrate: Alternative Supplements in this COVID-19 Pandemic" during the Research Symposium at Cavite State University held today, September 26, 2023.
Together with her on this milestone are Prof. Shiela L. Vidallon, Prof. Maria Andrea C. Francia, Mr. John F. Reyes, Mr. Marvin D. Sibucao, Dr. Gretchen Macaranas, Ms. Jocalyn B. Siochi and our Campus Administrator, Dr. Cristina M. Signo.
Dr. Joan L. Fortuna presented her study, "Pandemic Period Effects on Customers' Perception of Dine-in Services: A Causal Approach," at the First Regional Edutourism Congress at Laguna State Polytechnic University.
The study is also published in the EduTourism International Journal Volume 1 Issue 1 June 2023.
The Department of Management faculty members attended the second day of the Cavite State University - Carmona Campus' First RE-IGNITE: Research and Extension Symposium 2022, initiated by the Research and Extension Services Office of Cavite State University-Carmona Extension Services Office, with the theme, "Sustaining R&E Culture for Continuous Community Support and Transformation" last January 12, 2023.
Prof. Joan L. Fortuna and Dr. Gretchen Macaranas presented the different products their team has developed under research development and extension services with our Campus Administrator, Dr. Christina M. Signo, and our Campus Research Coordinator, Prof. Carlo Emil Mañabo.
The innovations and products developed were presented to the Vice President for Research and Extension, Dr. Melbourne R. Talactac, during his visit to our Campus, along with Mr. Laurence Hererra of CvSU SPRINT Center, last October 12, 2022.

Three project types of research led by members of the Faculty of Hospitality were proposed today, December 21, 2022, at the Cavite State University - Carmona in the presence of the Local Research Board during the 1st RE-IGNITE Research and Extension Symposium.
These researchers are in collaboration with other faculty researchers with different specializations that can greatly contribute to the credibility and content of the projects.
