In a full-day seminar dedicated to advancing service excellence in the food and hospitality industry, McDonald's Carmona hosted the Restaurant Leadership Seminar with the theme, “Tactics to Customer Satisfaction and Engagement,” held on July 17, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at McDonald’s Carmona, Cavite.

The seminar featured two of our esteemed faculty as resource persons, Dr. Joan L. Fortuna and Mr. Klenton R. Torrevillas, who generously shared their time, expertise, and industry insights. Their sessions focused on effective leadership, real-world customer service practices, and innovative approaches to guest engagement and satisfaction in fast-paced restaurant environments.

The participants engaged in a series of interactive discussions and workshops aimed at sharpening leadership skills and enhancing guest relations strategies.

The Department expresses its deep gratitude to Dr. Fortuna and Mr. Torrevillas for their valuable contributions in shaping the next generation of hospitality leaders and to McDonald's Carmona for their invitation.

The Department Chairperson, Dr. Joan L. Fortuna, attended a two-day seminar on Food Product Development and the Safe Usage of Various Food Additives at the FPD-ITDI, DOST Compound, Bicutan, Taguig City, from June 4 to 5, 2025.

This initiative aims to enhance the integration of relevant and timely research knowledge into the upcoming academic year.

BSHM faculty members Mr. Matt Cedrick Serrano and Ms. Charlene Cadag attended a Fruit Carving Training at The Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA). 

The training aimed to enhance their skills in food presentation and support the department’s commitment to faculty development and industry-aligned instruction.

The Department of Hospitality Management congratulates our BSHM Program Coordinator, Mr. Klenton R. Torrevillas, for the commendation he received from the Local Government of General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite, last May 19, 2025. 

The commendation cites his Contribution to promoting Excellence in Research Presentations and Community Service.

Mabuhay! Cavite State University - Knowledge Management Center released an official poster for the Think-Talk Techno Pitching featuring our very own Program Coordinator, Dr. Joan L. Fortuna along with the Chairperson of the Department of Arts and Sciences, Prof. Shiela Vidallon.

Mabuhay! The Department of Hospitality Management congratulates our Department Secretary and Information Management Officer, Mr. Dan Dacillo Ardemer, for being designated as the pioneering Editor-in-Chief of Ad Astra.

Ad Astra is the news and publication of the Department of Hospitality Management for both faculty and students. Ad Astra aims to recruit student writers, contributors, and journalists to make up the Editorial Staff.

Dr. Joan L. Fortuna and Mr. Dan Dacillo Ardemer went to the Cavite State University - Carmona Library yesterday, May 8, 2025, to turn over more than 20 undergraduate development research papers compiled from 2022 until the present.

The research pieces were received by our Campus Librarian, Ms. Mignon Lois B. Dela Cruz, and Assistant Campus Librarian Ms. Brendalyn Guinoban.

The Campus Library is designed to effectively store, catalog, and preserve research materials for long-term access, safeguarding students' work against outdated formats and personal storage challenges.

Moreover, the library enhances the accessibility of research to a broader audience, including fellow students, researchers, and the public. By depositing student research in the campus library, we significantly increase our students' academic visibility.

This move also ensures that our students' research becomes part of the scholarly record. This not only supports future research and teaching but also aids policy development, thereby extending the influence of our students' work.

Mabuhay! The Department of Hospitality Management congratulates our Campus Administrator, Dr. Jenny Beb F. Espineli, who has been appointed by the Cavite State University - Knowledge Management Center as an Associate Editor of the CvSU Research Journal.

We joined the Carmona Tourism Fair yesterday, September 29, 2023, during the celebration of the 3rd Carmona Tourism Summit, featuring our products and services from the Research and Extension offices. 

HMP thanks our exhibit staff members for taking charge and engaging with visitors and responding to queries during the fair - the faculty: Dr. Joan L. Fortuna, Mr. Dan Louise Ardemer, and Mr. Nathaniel Tolentino; from the students: Reymark Calyao, Ryan John, Hailie Obia, Samuel Dane, and Chloe Ravelo. 

HMP also thanks Mr. Carl Emil Mañabo, Mr. Antonino Jose Bayson, Ms. Janine Bacosmo, Mr. Martk Abril, Mr. Jonell Ocampo,  our Campus Administrator, Dr. Cristina M. Signo, for your help and support. 

The faculty members of Cavite State University-Carmona Campus visited the Cavite State University-Main Campus to join in the festivities and celebration of the Cavite State University's 117th Founding Anniversary as an Institution. 

The Department of Tourism - CALABARZON had its flagship training program, The Filipino Brand of Service Excellence, at Cavite State University - Carmona last April 14, 2023. 

The Program would like to thank Mr. Keneth De Gracia for giving his valuable time as the master trainer of this training, Asst. Prof. Joan L. Fortuna with the Supreme Hoteliers Society for their efforts and unwavering dedication to this program, Asst. Prof. Maria Andrea C. Francia, DM Chairperson, and Dr. Cristian M. Signo, our Campus Administrator for their unwavering support.

The Smiles & Stars Hospitality Online Training Services paid a courtesy visit to Cavite State University - Carmona Campus today with their Founder and  General Manager, Ms. Jessica Saniel, and their Senior Manager for the Linkages and Relations Department, Mr. Jan Michael Saniel, to award the Certificate of Appreciation for the continued partnership with our campus institution.

The Certificate was received by the Hospitality Management Program Head, Prof. Joan L. Fortuna, and the Chairperson of the Department of Management, Prof. Ma. Andrea C. Francia.
