History
The Department of Hospitality Management (DHM) has its roots in the former Hospitality Management Program under the Department of Management at Cavite State University – Carmona. It initially offered the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) and, over the years, experienced significant growth in student enrollment, academic achievements, and industry collaborations. These developments laid the foundation for its transition into an independent department.
In 2025, the DHM was officially established as an independent department, with Dr. Joan L. Fortuna serving as its first Chairperson. Since then, the department has continuously worked to enhance its academic programs, build strong partnerships, support faculty and student development, and engage with the community.
Accreditation and Quality Assurance.
Today, DHM is preparing for its Level III Phase 2 accreditation by AACCUP and has already been granted its Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) by CHED in October 2022 which is a clear evidence of its commitment to delivering quality education.
Achievements and Recognition
The department supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) through sustainability-focused policies. It is a proud member of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Secretariat and was awarded a Plaque of Tourism Excellence Appreciation by the Department of Tourism – CALABARZON in 2023.
Community and Collaboration
Department of Hospitality Management belongs to the Hospitality Management Community at Cavite State University – Carmona, known as the ONEHM Community, together with the Supreme Hoteliers Society, Ad Astra, and the Hospitality Management Laboratories.
Commitment to Excellence
With more than 1,000 students, a dedicated and experienced faculty, and numerous awards in academic, research, and skills competitions, the DHM continues to pursue excellence. It is also actively involved in community training programs such as Bar and Beverage Services and Bread and Pastry Production, further demonstrating its strong ties with both the industry and the community.

Since earning our Level 2 Accreditation, the Department of Hospitality Management has continued to raise the bar in academic excellence, creativity, and innovation.
