Where? Liberty Lake, Washington. Here’s the link to my “Get Out Spokane” Google Map with this and all previous destinations charted. When: August 2018
Getting into the Water: Follow Google Maps to the Liberty Lake boat launch. You will need your Discover Pass to park here. There is a large parking lot and you can walk right down the cement launch pad to the water.
Describe the Ride: Liberty Lake is known for its golf courses, walking paths, growing community and the stores and restaurants that come along with rapid growth. What people sometimes forget is Liberty Lake is just that, a lake. It’s a fun place to boat, swim, paddle or fish. On the day I visited the lake, they were treating it with chemicals so I stayed out of the water. Liberty Lake is known as a warm lake so it’s great to enjoy swimming in the spring and early summer, but you want to double check the water quality if you plan on swimming later in the summer. As far as paddle boarding goes, the lake is quite calm and easy to navigate. Once again, it would be a nice place to venture out with a small group, tie up, crank some tunes and enjoy some R & R. The lake is close to town and easy to access so it serves as a great place to get in a quick ride.

Many beautiful homes line the banks of Liberty Lake.
Liberty Lake is an awesome place to recreate including golfing, walking, biking, fishing, swimming, paddling and more. Liberty Lake is a community that is growing at a rapid pace. The banks of the lake are changing a bit as people buy up the homes and update them. During the week, the lake is often quiet and a great place for a casual paddle board ride. Being so close to town, it is a convenient place to learn to paddle board, to venture out with a group of friends or to simply work on your stroke.
