Where? Umi Kitchen and Sushi Bar. When? July 2018
Describe the food and fun: The first time we ate at Umi Kitchen and Sushi Bar, it was random luck. We were tasting some wine at Maryhill winery in Kendall Yards and had a marvelous time in the reserve room while tasting some nice wines. After purchasing a bottle, we were looking for a place to eat and we noticed a cool, new sushi joint. Upon entrance, we were treated to a fun and inviting environment highlighted by sushi chefs preparing tasty rolls and other delicious grub. The service was great and the acting manager allowed us to open our Maryhill wine with no corkage fee. That was a nice perk! The sushi was the best we’ve had in Spokane. They were the typical rolls you find at most places featuring extremely fresh fish. After dinner, we ventured downstairs to the nice bar and patio. We’ll try that out next time. After telling our daughter Elle about Umi, she insisted we go there as our goodbye dinner before leaving for college. She applauded the new find as well.
