2020 has done a lot of damage to our ministry plans for this year! However, we are thankful that despite the pandemic, Samaritan’s Purse is making sure that Operation Christmas Child continues. CVBC is excited to participate again this year.

There are two ways that you can pack a shoebox this year. First, there is the traditional method. We have preprinted shoeboxes and labels available at the church. Take your box, fill it with appropriate items, and return it to the church on or before November 15. Be sure to follow the instructions regarding proper items carefully. COVID-19 and customs restrictions have required some modifications to how the boxes are packed. Don’t forget to include the $9 shipping fee when you pack your box.

The second option is brand new this year - pack a box online. This is a super-simple process, and it saves you a trip to the store!

Simply visit samaritanspurse.org and click the link “Build a Shoebox Online.” Once you’re there, the website walks you step-by-step through the box-building process.

If you do build a shoebox online, be sure to let us know in the Church Office so we can add it to our total count.

Don’t forget - shoeboxes are due back on or before November 15. You can drop them off at the office during regular business hours or bring them to the worship center on Sundays.

November is here! It has brought that crisp fall air. It also brings cold & flu season. Health experts have warned that cold & flu season during a pandemic is going to be challenging. We are continually monitoring conditions in our community so we can respond appropriately. The most important thing we can do as a church is follow the simple maxim - if you don’t feel well, stay home.

If you happen to find yourself at home because of sickness or quarantine, it is very easy to find our services. You can visit live.cvbchurch.org, or you can tune into YouTube.com/chattanoogavalleybaptistchurch.

As social media continually changes algorithms, you need to make sure you SUBSCRIBE to the YouTube Channel, so our broadcasts are easy to find. If you are watching online, be sure to “check-in” so we know you’re there. Unless you comment, we have no way of knowing that you’re watching!

CONTINUING CVBC'S MINISTRY TO KIDS

As you know, our Kids Pastor, Matt Finchum resigned last month. He is enrolling in a CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) Program to pursue a career in chaplaincy. Please continue to pray for Matt & Cassie and their children as he pursues a new direction in ministry.

During the transitional period, Heather Carroll has stepped up to provide leadership to our kids ministry. She brings years of experience as an educator having served both in the classroom and as an administrator. You can reach her at hcarroll@cvbchurch.org. We are thankful for Heather’s willingness to serve during this time!
