CVBC Trustees Report

The Trustees of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church have several items that are currently being worked on while we have also laid out a 3-5 year vision plan. Below are several near-term projects that have been recently completed, currently being worked on, or are upcoming.

Projects currently in the works

  • Repair/replace the sewer pumps/grinders

  • Investigating a yearly maintenance contract on the sewer system

  • Replace 2 new catalytic converters to the Church van that was stolen

  • Repair/replace roof shingles and facia on the west side of the Sanctuary

  • Landscaping the sign at Hwy 193

  • Replace specific floor tiles in the Gym

  • Cleaning up back property line, and clearing brush along Hwy 193 and the creek to improve visibility.

3-5 Year Vision Plan:

These plans are not set in stone and are contingent upon the availability of funding, but we do believe these projects are very important to complete as the church moves forward.

Investing in "Next-Gen Ministry"

  • Complete construction of “The Loft” student ministry room. The current space is really only about 75% finished.

  • Upgrade and relocate the Children’s Ministry (2nd floor) area to the opposite end of the building so the Daycare and Children's ministry are on one end of the building

    • Provide ease of access for guests with children.

    • Increase safety and security.

    • Enclose one side of the east drive-thru for welcome area/foyer for Daycare, Nursery, and KidsMinistry.

    • Cover sidewalk on NE side of Church to allow for easy access between kids area/preschool and worship center while maintaining secure access.

Making Energy-Efficient Upgrades

  • Replace windows on the educational building (upstairs and downstairs)

  • Office relocation to the Fellowship Hall and turn current office’s into small group rooms and a welcome center. Currently, our office space requires that the entire worship center be kept at "occupied" temperatures.

Improving Guest Experience & Aesthetics

  • Replace Fellowship Hall flooring (rooms, hallway, and fellowship hall). You'll notice the tiles have really started to discolor and the carpet is showing lots of wear.

  • Upgrade all signage inside and outside. Our campus is a challenge to navigate for our guests.

  • Sanctuary Refresh

    • Speakers in Sanctuary. Current speakers are beginning to fail and are too old to be repaired.

    • Install sound acoustic panels to improve the sound in the room.

    • Carpet - the carpet is original to the room.

    • Pew refresh - the upholstery on the pews is original to the room.
