Spotlight on Students

As my first month as the new Student Pastor comes to a close, I want to thank you all one more time for such a tremendously warm welcome. My family has felt right at home and like a part of the CVBC Family from our first Sunday here, so thank you very much for everything! That being said, we have a ton of exciting things going on in our youth ministry!

The CVBC Youth Ministry (6-12 grade students) will start having various events/activities on the FIRST Sunday night of each month. For February, we are having a Bonfire here at the Church. If the weather isn’t cooperative that evening, we’ll head up to the Loft and have a game/movie night instead. Regardless, Sunday, February 6th will be a great night of food and fellowship for our students.

March 11-12, the youth ministry will be headed to Murfreesboro, TN for a conference. While this is not the traditional Winter Retreat/D-Now that some are used to, this is a great opportunity for our students to get away for a night, fellowship together, worship together, & study the word together. The price for this event is only $50. Please make sure you sign up ASAP if you have not already.

June 20-24, we will be headed to Brewton Parker for our Summer Camp! I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to be taking a group to Centrifuge this summer. After the last little bit of camps and conferences getting canceled and postponed due to Covid, it’s going to be great to get back and do camp like normal. All current 6th through 12th grade students are invited to go to camp. Please do not hesitate to contact me (jcarr@cvbchurch.org) with any questions/concerns about camp. The deposit for camp is $75 due ASAP. We will be doing a couple of fundraisers throughout the spring to help offset the cost including a Spaghetti Lunch on February 27th. All students who help with the fundraiser will split the money raised to go towards their camp fees.
