The Children's Program is under the leadership of Tim Versteeg from the First Unitarian Church of Hamilton. Tim is a Unitarian lay chaplain and a Scout leader.
Children under 14 will gather on Saturday and Sunday in a suite in Mary Keyes Residence, and take part in explorations on the McMaster campus, enjoy activities, and share meals together.
Registration for the children's program can be found on t. he Children's Program Registration page. To make the children's program more financially accessible for families, a sliding scale is provided for payment options. Registration includes lunches for Saturday and Sunday, and parents are responsible for meals and care outside of these hours.
Families, youth, young adults and adults come together for lunch on Sunday. The meal encourages all to sit at tables with a variety of age ranges, to talk together and to get to know someone of another generation. In 2016 at the Vancouver conference, a game of Family FeUUd had everyone talking about their favourite hymns and youth con games. What's planned for this year's lunch? Come and find out.
Most of the workshops on Sunday after the Multigenerational Lunch have been designed to include youth, junior youth and children. The Children's Program will join adults, young adults and youth in these workshops. Please indicate on the Children's Registration form your child's choice of workshops. Find the workshop details under Program - Streams and Workshops.
All Children and Jr. Youth (ages 0 – 14) are required to provide a signed, informed consent form as part of the requirements for their attendance at Canadian Unitarian Council Events. Any participant who does not provide a signed informed consent form prior to the start of the event will not be allowed to participate in the event. Parents and guardians - fill in the consent form here.
