Creating Safe and Healthy Youth Community
The Canadian Unitarian Council is committed to holding safe and inclusive events for the youth of our denomination. We take many steps to create a culture of safety at youth events, and have a great track record of hosting safe events for the 14-20 age range. Youth leaders are dedicated to this goal, modeling practices like covenanting, consent and inclusiveness.
The CUC has developed policies, rules, and requirements to help clarify responsibilities and expectations for the youth, and the adults who work with them, when attending programs and events run by the CUC. We ensure safety throughout the youth con with a youth:adult ratio of 8:1 and overnight supervision by awake adults.
