On January 9th, Carle Place High School held an Alumni Day, welcoming back graduates to share advice with current students. A panel of seven alumni provided insight into their college lives, career choices, and lessons they have learned since graduating high school. Juniors and seniors were given the opportunity to ask questions and gain guidance about the college application process.
The panel included a diverse group of alumni pursuing careers in fields such as the military, business analytics, mathematics, biology, and more. One alumnus is currently a Division I lacrosse athlete committed to the University of Notre Dame, while others are studying at North Carolina State University, the University of Tampa, Farmingdale State College, Lehigh University, and more. Students were able to hear about life after graduation from a variety of perspectives.
Alumni Day provided students with insightful information as they discussed the importance of adapting to new surroundings, researching college programs, communicating with guidance counselors, and challenging themselves academically. Alumni also emphasized getting involved in the school community, starting college essays early, and thinking about potential career paths. Overall, the event inspired students to take initiative in planning their futures.
Thank you to the guidance counselors for organizing this event and to the alumni for returning to the school!
