This winter, the Environmental Action Club spread an important message to the community, encouraging recycling and sustainability. Club officers combined education with creativity to decorate the Guidance door, making it both festive and informative.
In addition to raising awareness within the high school, the EAC visited five Cherry Lane kindergarten classrooms to teach children the importance of recycling. The lesson plan and craft were initiated, designed, and led by a club officer. Students learned what recycling means, why it matters, and how reusing materials can benefit the environment and protect animals. After an engaging presentation, the kindergartners participated in a hands-on craft, creating snowmen out of recycled toilet paper rolls and other materials.
Through this project, the Environmental Action Club was able to teach young students that everyday items can be reused rather than thrown away. The EAC hoped to inspire lifelong habits of sustainability in youth. Stay tuned for upcoming field trips and Earth Day events!
