Bryant Park is one of New York City’s most iconic spots, offering a common welcoming space in the middle of the busy city. It’s a popular place to relax, meet friends, or simply take in the atmosphere of Manhattan.
Our school's Culture Vultures club decided to take anjoy an opportunity to visit Bryant Park and the New York Public Library. Students were able to see the library's impressive architecture and learn about its history. Walking through the quiet halls and famous reading rooms instilled in students a new appreciation for the importance of education, history, and learning beyond the classroom.
The club advisors were responsible for planning this trip and ensuring a wonderful time. Dr. Furino stated, “It was good to see everyone enjoy the trip as much as they did,” meaning everyone had a wonderful time, and it was memorable. Mr. Colosa stated, “Seeing the kids outside of school and in a different environment was unique.” These advisors enjoyed the trip just as much as the students and plan to continue to plan new and lively trips.
Bryant Park was especially exciting, as there was so much to do and see during the winter season. Students explored the festive winter village, filled with small shops selling gifts, snacks, and handmade items; they also enjoyed grabbing food and warm drinks from the many vendors around the park. One of the highlights of the excursion was watching the skaters glide across the ice rink, which contributed to the spirited atmosphere.
Overall, the trip was a great mix of fun and culture, allowing students to spend time together while experiencing two iconic New York City landmarks.
