Cincinnati Public Schools uses iReady and NWEA MAP assessments as benchmark assessments 2-3 times a year to measure achievement and growth as well as predict student performance on state assessments. Additionally, iReady Reading assessments serve as our state mandated reading diagnostic assessments for repeating kindergarteners and students in grades 1-3.
Purpose of benchmark assessments:
iReady and MAP assessments serve as tools that assess student's strengths and weaknesses, measure academic growth, and to help educators make informed instructional decisions.
CPS also uses the MAP and iReady diagnostic assessments as readiness assessments for the Ohio State Tests and End-of-Course Exams in grades 3-8 and for Algebra 1 and Biology students.
