Getting ready for back to school in Aragón . The Department of Education of the regional Executive is carrying out works in several centers, which will open new facilities on September 8, and in others where progress is still being made with a view to future expansions.
Zaragoza capital brings together the largest performances these days, focused especially on schools in the south. This is the case of the CPI Ana María Navales , in Arcosur, where 1st, 2nd and 3rd year Primary students will finally be able to open their classrooms after an investment of 4.8 million euros, to which are added another 2.24 million invested in the second phase of works this summer and which is scheduled to open next school year (2026-2027).
Very close, in the Rosales del Canal neighborhood, is the CPI Zaragoza Sur , where part of the Secondary classroom will be put into service. Here the total investment has been 6.8 million and to the part that will be released this September, 4 more units will be added at the end of 2025.
Also at the CPI Parque Venecia this summer, construction began on the second part of the Secondary classroom, in which 3.6 million euros have been invested. In the area you can see numerous large machinery and workers.
On the other hand, at the CPI Valdespartera III the machines were already put into operation on August 21 with the aim of having the new sports court completed as soon as possible.
But not only the south of Zaragoza will see its educational centers improved. Throughout the summer, and according to sources from the Department of Education, the works have been completed at both the Infant School Aragón Thus, their students will also return to school with the renovated spaces, after more than 1.80 million euros have been invested in each of them.

Thus, the bathrooms of the CEIP San Braulio have been renovated for an amount of 43,700 euros. Added to them are the CEIP José Antonio Labordeta Subías (14,300 euros) and the CEIP Supradiel, which are still under construction. At the Martínez Garay de Casetas, spaces for the new two-year-old class have been adapted for just over 45.00 euros.
Along the same lines, work is now underway to carry out accessibility work at the Grande Covian institute and at the César Augusto center in Zaragoza. At the IES Picarral, work has been carried out to replace false ceilings for 40,000 euros and at the Ferrer y Racaj center in Ejea, the fiber cement roof has been replaced (33,800 euros). have been created three new classrooms after restructuring interior spaces, which has involved an investment of 20,000 euros. At the Santiago Hernández Institute, fencing and exterior carpentry are being repaired.
The Department of Education points out that "the beginning of works for the construction of a classroom and adaptation of spaces at the Ángel Riviere Special Education School in Zaragoza for more than 420,000 euros.
On the other hand, the Provincial Service of Zaragoza is carrying out improvement and adaptation works in school spaces throughout the province for an amount of more than 2.4 million. Specifically, there have been 2,473,089.86 euros of investment. These actions include, among others, the rehabilitation works of the roofs of the CPI Picarral, the CEIP Julián Sanz Ibáñez, the IES Pablo Gargallo and the IES Miguel Catalán, in the Aragonese capital; and from the IES Tubalcaín de Tarazon. They are all being finalized. In addition, the department details that the fiber cement on a roof of the CEIP Ferrer y Racaj in Ejea de los Caballeros has also been replaced. The amount of these works exceeds 200,000 euros.
Added to this are the improvements in the facades, leaks and insulation and, in general, the solutions to the damage that occurred as a result of the spring rains in the Official Language School (EOI), in the El Portillo Institute, in the IES José Manuel Blecua, in the perimeter wall of the IES Miralbueno, in the CPI Río Sena, and in the IES Félix de Azara, in Zaragoza, and in the Teachers' Center of Calatayud, among others.
During the summer, work has also been carried out on the pavement of the patios , on the false ceilings and on the perimeter fencing of the CPI La Jota, where some 40,000 euros have been invested according to Education data, at the CPI Santiago Hernández, at the CEIP Catalina de Aragón, at the CEIP Cándido Domingo. Likewise, the perimeter wall of the CEIP Daniel Federio de Sástago, among others, has been reinforced.
Regarding the air conditioning , throughout July and August the heating pump at the CEIP Santo Cristo de Cariñena was changed. Along the same lines, the change in the electrical installation of the Osera headquarters in the Sabinar CRA is now also addressed, which will imply a thermal improvement in the center. According to information from Education, in this summer period work has also been done to prepare the documentation to tender the change of boilers in several centers soon.
Education is also now carrying out other improvement works both in carpentry and in the adaptation of spaces for the next school year (2026-2027) in the following centers: at the CEIP Julián Sanz Ibañez in Zaragoza, for 301,400 euros; at the CEIP San Jorge de Herrera de los Navarros, for 21,000 euros and at the IES Siglo XXI in Pedrola, also for 21,000 euros. In addition, they are working on replacing exterior carpentry elements at the Pedro de Luna and Santiago Hernández institutes for a value of 48,200 and 43,812.07 euros respectively.
According to reports from the Department of Education, in Teruel there are about 50 works underway in educational centers for an approximate value of 4 million. Half of them correspond to an agreement with the DPT to improve rural schools in the province.
