TAMAR
Tamar is a Meal Site Coordinator at the Williamsburg Senior Center, a fabric artist, and a gardener.
In her work at the Senior Center, she provides free homemade meals and groceries to senior citizens and hungry people in Williamsburg, MA. Her artwork is often inspired by her passion for fresh food and her appreciation of rural landscapes.
“As soon as Covid started to abate, we trepidatiously began saying...why don't you come back and eat? And people did...being together is what makes community strong.”

"At the Williamsburg Senior Center it’s really quite fabulous… I've seen changes in most of the people who come to lunch that are struggling..They're talking, laughing, eating and they're hanging around afterwards. I feel like COVID infused our interactions with more meaning because we couldn't have them before. We try more to stay connected, we value it more than we did before…being together is what makes community strong."
