Medicaid Reimbursement

Updates pertaining to TN PULSE will be made once available.

CMCSS participates in TennCare's Medicaid Reimbursement program with PCG (developers of TNPULSE), which allows us to seek reimbursement money for providing school-based therapy services, such as speech/language therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy, to students who are Medicaid/TennCare eligible. As a result, all CMCSS therapy providers obtain and maintain a valid Tennessee Health Board License in the appropriate field, at no cost to the employee. Therapists receive training specific to Medicaid Reimbursement and use EdPlan's "EasyTrac" program to log their therapy services and student progress.

Special Ed Case Managers: EdPlan will automatically generate a "TennCare Parental Consent" form when IEPs are created for students who receive school-based therapies.  This serves as a reminder to special ed case managers to obtain parent signatures for Medicaid Reimbursement when parents are signing the IEP. However, signed parent consent for Medicaid Reimbursement is only needed one time, not every year. Following the IEP meeting, send the signed "TennCare Parental Consent" form to the administrative assistant, Casey Crawford, at casey.crawford@cmcss.net and upload the form with the IEP signature pages. Case managers can check to see if parental consent has been obtained by checking if a date has been entered in the "Parental Consent to bill for Medicaid Services" section at the bottom of the student's Personal Tab in EasyIEP.

The "TennCare" tab on the Main Menu of EdPlan has several helpful documents related to Medicaid Reimbursement, including a "cover letter" that helps explain to parents why we are requesting their consent, English and Spanish versions are available.
