Dates to Remember:
Second Step Program: Our next Second Step lesson with Mrs. Swan will be on Wednesday, October 23rd, Day 2.
Lockdown Drill: Sherwood School's first lockdown drill of the year will be on Wednesday, October 23rd at 10:30 a.m. and will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Our class will be practicing lockdown procedures prior to that date as well.
Book Exchange: Our next book exchange will be on Thursday, October 24th, Day 3. Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Wednesday, October 23rd, Day 2. Merci!
Learning Buddies: Our next Learning Buddies session with Mme Fraser's Grade 3 French Immersion class will be on Friday, October 25th, Day 4.
Show and Share: All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice for Show and Share on Friday, October 25th. Kindly help your child introduce themselves. The following sentence structure may be helpful to them: Bonjour! Je m’appelle _____. Voici mon/ma _____. Please remember not to send toys with your child on days other than Show and Share.
Absence: Madame Sarah Legault will be replacing me for the afternoon on Friday, October 25th as I will be absent. Unfortunately, I will not able to check for email messages or take telephone calls.

Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week and year ahead:
Leader/Assistant: Our first leader of the day will be Caleb and our first assistant will be Carter this week.
Theme: Our theme will be Apples again this week. We will also continue to touch on Fall.
Backpack Tags: I will be attaching a tag to your child's backpack, indicating their regular afternoon dismissal routine. Kindly use a permanent marker to add their name, if you choose to.
Eye See…Eye Learn! Program: Kindly have your child take advantage of the Eye See … Eye Learn! Program before June 30th, 2025. The Eye See … Eye Learn! program is an eye health and vision awareness program which provides one free eye exam and, if needed, one free pair of glasses to all Kindergarten students across P.E.I. Healthy Snack Update: All students of Sherwood School will be offered a healthy snack every Wednesday, free of charge, beginning Wednesday, October 9th. The snacks will always be peanut and nut free. There will be an alternative available when the selected snack contains dairy or gluten.
