The File Manager module allows for secure online file storage and design collaboration on the project. A file folder structure has been created to organize the project documents. The default main folders are “Clark” and “Shared”. The “Clark” folder is for internal access only and the “Shared” folder is used to share out information with our Owner, Architects, Engineers and Subcontractors. By default Clark IT will share the information out with “Observer” (View) permissions. Please contact the Clark IT Kahua team if you want to increase permissions.
Users are able to upload, download, markup and view files in the system based on the Folder & Group permissions. Kahua and BlueBeam allow for easy markups without having to download and upload the file. File Manager Admin permissions are controlled by the “Project Admin” or “File Manager Admin” Groups from the Groups app. Normally one or two people have File Manager admin permissions to manage the File Director folders within each project.
Each new project comes with standard folders, groups and permissions to help meet compliance with Clark's Records Retention Plan (as of 11/09) (see File Manager Structure_Permissions_Kahua.pdf below). The Group names are: Project Admin, File Manager Admin, Internal User, Owner, Architect/Engineer and Subcontractor, Design Team, Owner Team, and Subcontractor.
Tip: A WebDav / Windows Explorer connection to a Kahua File Manager can be accomplished by mapping a Network drive. NOTE: This connection ONLY works for users within our domain (Clark / Atkinson users only). See instructions below "Windows Explorer connection to Kahua File Manager on Windows Vista-7.doc".
