CSI Codes are project-specific and are obtained from the project’s specification manual.
The CSI Codes are created along with the Submittal Registry which is created based off of a PDF of the Spec document using Pype. Pype is a third party tool that extracts the data from the specification and outputs in an Excel .xls format. Please see the Submittals - Submittal Registry_Import tab for more info.
CSI Codes can only be modified by members of the project’s “Project Admin” Group.
To Add or edit individual CSI Codes on your project select Apps - Index Management and CSI Codes. CSI Codes within Kahua should be created without spaces. Example: 033000 (for Cast-in-Place Concrete). CSI Codes are used mainly in the Submittal and RFI apps.
The CSI Codes can be exported, updated and imported throughout the project to update a large number of codes. Please contact Clark IT Kahua support for assistance.
Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) is an organization that keeps and changes the standardization of construction language as it pertains to building specifications.
