Drama and Theatre Studies A level is a course that studies the ideas and themes behind key dramatic theories and texts and explores these through practical workshops. These lead to your own devised group, and individual performances, and finally an exam.
The first year is exploratory where we explore a range of performance extracts applying the ideas and theories of different practitioners.
In year two you create a group devised piece for performance, a script extract for performance before an examiner, and an exam that is based on key texts and live production.
There are trips to venues such as The Globe and the National Theatre, as well as other West End Theatres during the course, as well as more local destinations like The Old Market and Chichester Festival Theatre.
You are also able to participate in our international trip to New York, where you will watch great shows and take part in Broadway workshops.
