The guest lecture began with Mr. Moorthy interacting with the audience about the perspective on what a business is all about. This interaction set an enthusiastic pace among the audience for the entire discussion. He went on to elaborate how it is important to acknowledge the value of consumers in product, price, place, and promotion using three cases that were provided to the audience well in advance as a part of pre-session engagement he had arranged. Discussing the solutions for these three cases enabled us to identify factors that have a real impact on marketing strategies.
Mr. Moorthy clearly explained how the five factors-culture, infrastructure, language, political and legal framework, and economics are the factors influence products, price, place, and promotion using the case of Netflix and other OTT platforms. Various points such as how India has no censor regulations for OTT platforms and how everyone has a technology with that allows them to connect with OTT platforms seamlessly.
As the second part of his pre-course engagement, an interesting discussion between Mr. Moorthy and the students ensued about an advertisement campaign by Unilever for its detergent brands across the globe, which helped us understand how multiple perspectives are essential for designing an effective advertisement campaign. As the last part of his session, he narrated his own experience to highlight the importance of how cultural sensitivity is a must for all cross-culture business collaborations to ensure smooth business transactions.
Students were prompt in asking interesting questions during the question-and-answer session for which Mr. Moorthy gave helpful insights. The session ended with faculties felicitating the guest with a memento.

On 31 October 2022, the most awaited event of the University' Bhasha Utsav' or the 'Ethnic Day' took place at the Bannerghatta Road Campus with the entire campus lighting up with the spirit of 'Unity in Diversity'. The students, faculty, administrative staff, maintenance staff, housekeeping staff, and each and everyone who was a part of the University brought in colour and joy during the event.
Being the second edition of this extravagant event of the year, it began with a procession lead by the Director, Dean and faculty members followed by the percussionists of the 'Chenda melam' troupe who were joined by the overjoyed first year students dancing throughout the procession around the circumference of the campus.
This was followed by the stage events in the main auditorium where the chief guest Mr Vilas Nayak, a world-wide renown artist and a record holder, enthralled the audience with his extraordinary talent of painting two portraits within 7 minutes, one portrait of our founder St. Kuriakose Chavara and one inspired by the folk art of Karnataka called 'Bhoota Kola'. After a thunderous applause and standing ovation to the chief guest, the audience witnessed mesmerising dance and music performances which built-up their hype. A music performance by the International students was a noteworthy one. The ending of 'Bhasha Utsav' was even more relishing, as the students grooved to the 'Dollu Kunitha' a Karnataka folk dance performance in the Audi Block entrance and to the vibes of DJ music after that.
