CHRIST (Deemed to be) University, Bannerghatta Road Campus conducted the 2nd day of “Magnificat 2022”, an annual choir festival, initiated by the Christ University Choir Team of Bangalore Campuses on 2nd December, 2022 and hosted by the Student Welfare Office of BGR Campus. The program was held in the main auditorium from 5 PM to 8 PM. This year’s theme was ‘The Joy of Christmas’. The event started off with a welcome address by Rev. Fr. Biju KC, Director of CHRIST, Bannerghatta Road Campus. The emcees of the day were Vratesh and Akshara. The event consisted of 10 choir teams. 3 choir performances were from the fraternity, Christ University Choir Teams of Bangalore Central, BGR and Kengeri Campuses, whereas the rest all were from well known choir teams and music groups in Bangalore.
All the choir teams came together to celebrate the season of joy by singing Christmas and gospel songs. The event was followed by an opening song by the Central Campus Choir and BGR Campus Choir, Christ Junior College, Sophia Chorale, Revelation Church Choir, and De Sales Academy. This was followed by performances of BGR Campus Choir, Bangalore Mizo Presbyterian Choir, Wind Orchestra, Kengeri Campus Choir, FingerSmith Collective performed and a last song by the Central Campus Choir. All the ten choir performances were stunning and phenomenal. It was as eclectic as it had been in the previous years, with a blend of classical and contemporary Christmas harmonies and strains whipped up and served a good treat for audiences of all ages. Lastly, the vote of thanks was given by the Dean, Dr. Jyothi Kumar. The curtain closing song was sung by the University Choir Team of the hosting Campus.
The Student Welfare Office (SWO) made this Christmas music festival a huge success and a memorable one. All the SWO Committee Heads and Volunteers’ coordination and cooperation was highly appreciated by everyone.
