Welcome June 2021!

Welcome New Academic Year!

"A fresh start isn't a new place, it is a new mindset". Since CHRIST BGR became more adept than the previous year, embracing the new online culture, new methodologies of teaching and so on... making us more stronger and foresighted that we now look forward to a new beginning. The environment day which was observed this month, marked the commencement of a better world and a better year to come! A few noteworthy achievements of BGR this month are also listed.

ECOTOPIA 2021

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

In this unprecedented time, PATA India Christ University Student Chapter initiated the event named “ECOTOPIA” - an event to encourage worldwide awareness and action to protect the environment. The theme for World Environment Day 2021 is “Reimage. Recreate. Restore.”

Founded in 2020, PATA India CHRIST University Student Chapter is India’s first PATA Student Chapter. The organisation is run by students of the tourism discipline of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) to benefit more than 250 members spanning across undergraduate and postgraduate tourism programmes in the university. The members are encouraged to participate in activities hosted by the chapter, focusing on various industry concerns, including sustainability and industry development

Keeping up with the theme, the event was divided into three competitions, namely, Octavia (Photography), No Justice, No Green (Article Writing) and Arlie’s Sword (Poster Making). This 2-day program on June 5th & 6th aimed to bring forth international experts at the forefront to judge these events to test student’s knowledge, creativity, and presence. They acknowledge the key issues and spread awareness about the environment.

Ecotopia was a wonderful opportunity that facilitated the importance of the environment and active levels of creativity as well as participation

'Green House' for a Green Campus

The collective effort of maintenance staff, under the guidance of the Director of BGR campus resulted in a 680 sq. ft. 'Green House' near the 'Parivarthana Unit' of the campus.

This venture is intended to cultivate saplings and re-potting of old plants which have to be tended under low sunlight.

'Actions speak louder than words'

This 'Green House' demonstrates that the 'Environment day' is not merely a one-day campaign but a relentless effort continued throughout our lives!

Antah Prerana- event winners of inter-collegiate fest

The Christ University School of Business and Management Association (CUBSMA) of Christ BGR campus are proud to announce the second runners up of the event 'Antah Prerana'- an inter collegiate competition hosted by Bhavan's Vivekanand College.

Vaccination Drive at BGR

CHRIST BGR campus ensured the safety and health of its employees from the deadly Coronavirus, which has engulfed innumerable lives across the globe, by organising a Vaccination Drive at the campus on 27th June 2021.

Around 121 employees and their family members were vaccinated with the Covishield vaccine during the Vaccination Drive.

The participants included the administrative, housekeeping, maintenance staff, and a few of their family members who were willing to take the vaccine. A few NCC student cadets also took the vaccine.
