Wow, the year just flew by! May into June and then the hardest part - saying good-bye! Enjoy highlights from the end of the year.
Playing in the playground, and learning how to fly! (We got the idea that jumping would be fun, and then we wanted to be photographed caught in mid-air!)
We are a roomful of readers and master decoders!

Some of the children carefully practiced reading a Mo Willems Gerald and Piggie book, and then read the book to the younger classes! ("Don't forget to hold up the book to show the pictures!!")

Dandelion Art - Merging artistic creativity with scientific understanding!
We studied seeds and the lifecycles of different plants. Studying lifecycles allows children to understand nature and also to work with the skill of sequencing.
We learned all about insects. Then, we made our own.
We discussed where they lived, and what made each special.
Summer Birthdays in May, and good-bye to our dear friend, Maya.
Our interest in maps led us to choose to study geography. Each child picked a country from the map, and began in inquiry, learning much more than just where it is. We decided to make believe we were travel agents. We filmed commercials inviting people to visit our countries and we created travel brochures. Don't forget to watch the video Ads below, too!
We used chroma key technology to remove and replace the backgrounds.
