Our 100th Day Celebration was COMPLETELY planned
by the students.
First thing to do was to work with a partner to create 100th day decorations!
Next the children made the cookie batter. We counted out 100 chocolate chips. We determined that we needed 10 cookies (one for each student and one for the Morah, too!!) So, we sectioned the dough into 10 balls, and we each counted out 10 chips. Then, we shaped the cookies, added the chips, and baked them. And they were FABULOUS!
Other AMAZING 100th day activities:
We kept two different balloons in the air for 100 taps.
We made a paper chain 100 links long. It stretched all the way across our classroom!
We did 100-piece puzzles all day long, including our 100 numeral counting puzzle.
We shared the 100 items that we brought into the classroom. We weighed them and compared how heavy or light they were, and how much space they took up.
We counted 100 pennies into our Tzedakah box.
Morah Callie's mom, a. k. a. Grandma Amy, ZOOMED into the classroom to read us a story. She read one of her favorite books: "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day."
When we added together the story and the movie, they were just about 100 minutes long.
The children decided that 100 minutes was a long time to sit still and watch things on a small screen.
But they really liked the book and the movie!
Everyone was awarded a special 100th Day certificate celebrating the 100 items they carefully counted and brought in
at our end-of-day Award Ceremony!
Note: William didn't feel like posing for an official award photo! That's okay.
